RUSENG

Maxim Grigorenko was born in Moscow in 1975 in the family of a composer. His father devoted his life to creating harmony of sounds and Maxim devoted himself to visual harmony as a photographer as well as a book designer. He received a Master's degree in History and Theory of Culture (RSUH). Maxim is the member of the Union of Photo Artists of Russia and co-founder of the gallery of contemporary photography "Territory +7" and the publishing house "Punkt" (www.punkt.su). He teaches the basics of photography art to the adults. The author's works are included the collection of the Russian Museum (Russia, St. Petersburg).

The main themes of Maxim Grigorenko's photography are: the human’s potential of perception and interpretation of reality and the personal experience of time. The author investigates capabilities of film photography as an art. That’s why he prefers special techniques of such as multiple exposure, cross-process, uses non-standard films, pinhole lenses and soft-focus lenses, although he also works with digital cameras.

The author prefers digital printing: the reproducibility of this technique paradoxically emphasizes the uniqueness of the original image. Large printouts with plasticization, printing on canvas or on watercolor paper become unique art objects that are suitable both for art exhibition and contemporary interior.
