The Drift / 1

The Drift / 1
I’ve shot all images of the project “The drift” on Kodak film with medium format camera. All photos were made during two weeks at the same place at the Baltic Sea (Palanga, Lithuania).
The pictures show the typical views of the seaside – the water, sand beach, boats, pier and walking people.
Every shot was made using multiple exposure (the method of superimposition of several exposures to create a single image). This technique is blurring the outlines of the objects and eliminating of small details that allow guessing familiar objects without distracting to insignificant.
The negative film was processed in a technique usually applied for developing of reversal films. This mode has changed natural colors: the sky became yellow and green, the sunset crimson and the shadows bright blue. Thus, the photographs drifts from the mirror reflection of familiar world to the object of abstract art.
