London // 2: Empire

Misty haze, pastel colors and slowly flowing through the shot time... The refined aesthetics of the watercolor reveals the beauty of London, the capital of the empire that never knows sunset. It could seem there should still be smog of factories over the city that created the power of the British Empire and industrial economy of the whole world. But it is not so. The smog of London factories turned into gold long ago, and gold transformed the city into a piece of art. In order to reproduce this perception of London, the author used a camera with a soft-painting lens and multiple exposures. The use of different color films and exposure conditions allowed us to find visual solutions corresponding to the idea. Analog techniques of shooting and film processing were used.
