Nigredo

Nigredo is immersion into darkness, where a meeting with your own shadow awaits. It is the beginning of the alchemical transformation. The move to a new level of understanding self and the world is imposible without the death and decomposition of the old person. The alchemists knew about this and began the process of Great Work from the stage of nigredo - immersion into darkness and decomposition of materia prima into the basic elements. The author explores this process using technique (redscale film, multiple exposure) and intuition, which rules the camera lens and makes the invisible — visible. Analog techniques of shooting and film processing were used to obtain the image.
