Serenissima Repubblica di Venezia — The Most Serene Republic of Venice. This name encompasses the sunlights at the Venetian lagoon and the shining white sails of the Venetian ships, the unlimited power of the Venetian doges and the boundless wealth of the Venetian merchants, the fires of the devastated Constantinople and the bayonets of the Napoleonic soldiers who put an end to the thousand-year republic. A republic that has become a symbol of arrogance, power and wealth. Ghosts of the past live in the stones and rotten water of Venice. Instead of endless crowd of conquered peoples, now endless crowd of tourists pay tribute to the insatiable city. This series is dedicated to the mythology of the place. To dive into it, a "guide to the spirit world" — a redscale film — was used. Analog techniques of shooting and film processing were used.
