Walls

The wall separates the inner from the outer, the familiar from the unknown, the definite from the primordial chaos which contains the unformed beginnings of all things. The wall is a symbol both of security and unfreedom. While choice of the side of the wall — here or behind — depends not only on us, the step inside or outside we can make consciousnessly. The photo is made in the technique of multi-exposure. Analog techniques of shooting and film processing were used.
The photographs of the "Walls" series are investigating city as a microcosm. They reveal the system-forming role of walls and the unstable position of a person in the city, who is forced by the city to balance between being "inside" (the city, the buildings, himself) and "outside".
